DIY Dog Shirt
It has definitely been a while since I have posted. Last semester in college kicked my but an then came graduation and the real life. However I did want to post this DIY Dog Shirt that I made for Hercules.
I saw where our local baseball team was doing a dogs night out an proceeds would go to an animal shelter. Which meant that Hercules had to look his absolute best for a public apparence.
I had a hard time finding just a plain dog shirt. If I had planned this out in advance I would have been able to order one but needless to say I didn't see the advertisement in time. Instead I bought a 3T shirt out of the kids department.
Yes the shirt looks slightly dirty! I was trying it on Hercules an he liked it so much he wouldn't let me get it off of him. So I did have to wash it before I could decorate it. The shirt hung slightly low in the front so I made slits in the side so I could tie each side together. If you have more sewing skills then me putting a elastic band in the bottom of the shirt would look great as well. Hercules doesn't like anything near his little wee wee or he has a melt down so I had to make sure that the shirt was tied close to his stomach to prevent this.
I bought iron on fabric from Walmart (which was not the best! I would suggest going to a fabric store and getting a better quality. I have used iron on before but this stuff just didn't hold up to my standards.) By using iron on printing sheets it allowed me to design whatever I want to be on the shirt and print it on to the iron on sheets. (Be careful most iron on sheets I have used your supposed to print in reverse however the Walmart brand didn't require that.)
Due to lack of quality in the iron on transfer this was really a one time use shirt but he looked good. If I did this again I would definitely find better iron on transfer sheets.

*also when using on iron on transfer sheets they have colored fabric sheets an little colored/white sheets. Make sure you get the correct one for what you are trying to transfer the design on to.
