Sports Gift
This blog came from my boyfriend's birthday that just passed. He is a huge sports fan and with valentine's not being that far out of the picture I was trying to figure out what else that I could do for him. I decided that I wanted to get him tickets to a game. I ended up deciding on Atlanta Braves tickets because he is big into baseball and we had talked about trying to make a game this year. However, I didn't just want to hand him a pair of tickets. I am definitely a small detail person and I wanted to make it special.
I decided to make him a "take me out to the ball game" bucket that included all the essential things that you think of when you think baseball. I am also talk about some extra things that you can put in the bucket as well depending on your budget and exactly what you want to do.
His Bucket
- I created replica tickets to stick in there because I had purchased online and didn't have the real ones yet
- Then you want to add the filler items to make the presentation
- Peanuts
- Candy- I used Reese's because it was his favorite Candy but anything that you want can be used
- Soda- I used soda but you can always make it more personal with beer, or whatever they like to drink while watching a game
- I threw bubble gum in mine (originally looked for Big Chew but apparently it is hard to find)
- I put peanut bars in mine (wanted cracker jacks but having a hard time finding them as well)
- Sunflower Seeds
- I also added shredded paper (you can get at the dollar store) to make the goodies stand up higher in the bucket
- I got a popcorn bucket (dollar store) to help keep the theme together
Other Options
- Merchandise- you can get special apparel (hats, shirts, koozies, foam fingers, etc . . .) to put in the bucket along with his tickets as well if he is a die heart fan or likes to collect sports gear
- A portable phone charger (specially if he is known for letting his phone die)
- Popcorn (Pre-popped would go better with the theme)
- If you have to travel gas cards, fast food places, hotel reservations, etc . . . are all great things to stuff in the bucket (depending on how much money you want to spend)
Just because I did baseball doesn't mean that you have to stick with that theme. You can do basketball, football, soccer, etc. . . most of the things will be exactly the same. If your man isn't a sport fan you can always make it more tailored to them individually. For example maybe he likes to go to plays you can get a bucket throw in a bottle of wine, tickets to the play, gift card to and intimate dinner, etc . . . Play around with what he likes to do and something that he can go out with another guy and do or something you can do together.
Not only did he get a birthday present but we also go to make plans for date night as well. It was like a two for the price of one type deal.
