Christmas Boxes
Ever had a gift box/ shirt box that was just to big for the item you put in it but you didn't want to go back out or your on a budget and the dollar store only had one size? Well here is a little hack to help you get a smaller box and turns that one top and bottom box into 2 boxes as well. Its like double the savings!
- Step 1: You one sided of a Normal size shirt boxes.
- Measure half way down the box and cut 2 slits into the side of the box approximately and inch thick. You will need to do this on both sides of the box so you a straight edge to measure across the box to make the slits even.
- You will then make folds matching the top and bottom slits as shown below. (It is easier to fold the line connecting the bottom slit first, then tape the flap you cut to make the box look like an "L" before folding the top.
- Once the top slit of the box is folded you have your "new" but smaller box.
* My family likes to tape down the edges of our boxes just to make sure they don't come undone (even if they don't appear to need it *plus increase anticipation for the receiver because of the extra obstacle). I highly recommend doing it to these smaller boxes because the one edge is folded and it likes to try an unfold itself.
All credit will have to go out to my mom and dad for teaching me this trick!
